What's a good routine then?

01/10/2017

Having a routine is important, as I outlined in the very first post of this blog. But then what is a good routine to have before a workout or game? Well, first let me lay out how a routine goes in the first place. It is supposed to be a combination of some small activities, like fist-bumping your coach, that bring your mind to the right place, that remind you a specific game is coming into play and to prepare your brain for that state of mind.

There are virtually unlimited amounts of routine combinations to put in. You can literally do anything that gets you ready for the game.

Handshakes

Handshakes are one of the activities that are most popular with students. Before tip-off they usually have a unique handshakes with their teammates to get them ready. Think of those pre-game handshakes of NBA players. They get ready with their friends and in turn, their minds prepare for what is to come physically.

Silent meditations

This doesn't have to look silly. But if you want to meditate to yourself quietly, then it is an acceptable form of pre-game routines. You basically set your mind straight manually so you can prepare your body in what you are about to ask of it.
